The Charleston South Carolina 2014 St. Patrick's Day Parade:
Charleston is a traditional city and St. Patrick's Day is no different. The day begins at 8 a.m. with a traditional Mass at Saint Patrick's Church (St. Phillips and Radcliffe). The parade begins 10 a.m. at King and Radcliffe streets and follows King Street down to Broad Street.
The parade is a traditional family event and is offered to all ages. The parade has over 1,000 participants and includes floats, bagpipers, Irish step dancers, fiddlers, local college and pro team mascots, and many of Charleston's favorite Irish citizens. After the parade (11:30 a.m.), the celebration continues in front of City Hall with the raising of the Tri-Colors and the singing of the Irish National anthem. Following the flag raising ceremony many events continue throughout the city including The Knights of Columbus Hall on Calhoun Street and O'Malley's on King Street. Events will include live Irish music and Corn Beef lunches. Slainte!
