Legend of "Irish Karate"
Shamus O'Bologne was heading home from the local pub one evening when a group of unscrupulous men surrounded him. One of these men took a swing at ole' Shamus, but feeling the effects of the pints from earlier in the evening, Shamus tripped just at the right moment and knocked over the brute. He then jumped to his feet, but again staggered abruptly as if he had just finished a shot of fine Irish whiskey. Shamus' missteps came just in time as he avoided a second hooligan who was trying to get the best of him. In the whirl of crazy stumbling and somewhat drunken acrobatics that followed, Shamus's legs flew into the air, kicking two different attackers and knocking them out cold. At the sight of this amazing feat, the other attackers turned and ran in horror.
News of Shamus' victory spread quickly, and local townspeople started approaching him asking him how he was able to defend himself. Had he learned his fighting style in some distant land? Was he trained by an ancient kung-fu master? "No," Shamus said. He had used a home grown technique passed down from his Irish father who had learned it from his father and so on. The name of this amazing and deadly form of self-defense: the one and only Irish Karate!
